Welcome, everyone! We’re soooo excited to feature women who have overcome their struggles using them as stepping stones to their success! To kick off our celebration of women, in this post we’re Featuring none other than the founder of Know the Truth…..

Mitzie Doyley!

How ironic of being featured in this week’s post the very blogsite a byproduct of Mitzie overcoming her personal struggles. Using her victory and success to help other women overcome their challenges and fears.

My struggles…  In the shadows

According to Mitzie, one of her biggest struggles was shying away from vocalizing her thoughts and opinions.   Although growing up she knew she loved to socialize and help others who were overlooked and undervalued, and even with school teachers validating on her report cards that “Mitzie loves to socialize and is the teachers’ helper”, she still held back.   With being a good speaker, encourager, organizing social functions, trips, and events she still felt her voice wasn’t being heard.  “I know I was relevant and had a lot to say but it couldn’t

come out, girls that were more popular, taller, or athletic just seemed to stand out. I felt outed and my light was overshadowed.”  Mitzie shared that her nature is not being competitive or a fighter to be on top or to be seen, “I didn’t have that in me, so, I just stayed in the shadows ever so often coming out when needed and then fall back into the shadows of others.”

The breakthrough

Finding God in her life changed everything.  Finding her true purpose and affirming her potential came from the guidance and teaching of Pastor John C. Taylor.  That’s when her struggle with allowing her voice to be heard ended and she took self-inventory of her life.

  1. Reflecting on all her strengths and writing them down.
  2. Remembering the accomplishments, embellishing the feelings of those accomplishments.
  3. Envisioning the dreams, goals, and what she wanted to do in life.
  4. Asking family, friends, and co-workers what they thought she was good at.
  5. Embracing the call on her life – that is to teach.

All these gave Mitzie a different perspective on life.

Finding her voice…

Focusing on all the potential lying inside of her, she began to feel good about herself and believe in herself.  That’s when she knew that she had to work on her voice and getting it heard.  “One of my personal gifts is teaching and that’s

one of the investments I made in myself.  I went to Bible College and became a Professor in Theology at Rhema Studies of Theology Association.”  Making every opportunity to encourage people and allowing her voice to be heard, she spearheaded a peer-to-peer recognition program at her place of work, encouraging workers to take the time and recognize fellow workers for their efforts in helping others. Doors began to open up for her,  being invited to speaking engagements, ministering at churches, her voice was being heard.  “Starting this blog has been one of the biggest platforms to let my voice be heard!  Helping women overcome their struggles, discover their potential and their path to purpose and to come out from the shadows of others and shine!”

Let’s join in together and celebrate this dynamic woman. Blogger, Teacher, Entrepreneur, Minister, Wife, and Mother of two boys.

“Thank you to all who have supported me, it’s happening here and now!”
